This was first my visit to Madrid and I really wanted to see the city through running. John is an exceptional guide. His knowledge of the history of Madrid made the tour extremely interesting. I feel like I have a good knowledge of the history of Madrid already, after just one visit. John is a strong runner and a genuine nice guy. I highly recommend Madrid Running Tours and John to take you on a fantastic running tour of Madrid. I am already thinking of my next visit to Madrid and my next run with Madrid Running Tours.

I highly recommend Madrid Running Tours. Madrid is a beautiful city to run in. John, the friendly tour guide, is a bilingual (Spanish/English) native of Madrid and therefore very knowledgeable about the city and its history. He is also a fitness coach, which takes care of the running aspect. I am a regular runner and used the tour to stay within my marathon-training schedule while traveling. It is a great way to get over jet lag and discover a new town.

I loved running in the Casa de Campo. It was gorgeous and gave me a fantastic perspective of the city, as well as a great workout! I highly recommend taking a running tour. You find out about the city from a local and the perspective you get from an early morning run in the city can’t be beat. Then you can enjoy all the delicious food Madrid offers with no guilt.

My spouse and I recently visited Madrid. I booked a tour with MRT to see the city in a different manner. We were certainly not dissapointed. The run was very entertaining and our guide, who was punctual, friendly and thoughtful, took several pictures of us at the most typical areas. We recommend it without a doubt.

Although it wasn’t my first trip to Madrid, I’ve never seen it jogging. I had a blast because I got to see the city in another way and while at it, get my exercise in. By all means, try it.

SIGRUN KALAND (New York NY, USA)

I couldn’t think of a better way to see the sights of Madrid and learn about the city’s history, architecture and current buzz, than to take a run with John and MRT. I was blown away by John’s professionalism, knowledge, energy and enthusiasm, including his ability and readiness to tailor a run to my wishes and needs (including speed). I was able to experience the great city of Madrid both by day and by night (yes, I took two runs with MRT), without having to worry about getting lost, AND I got my exercise too! Thanks a million John!

FAQ

How long do the running tours last?

Although times can vary due to the fitness level of the participants, traffic and weather, most running tours last between an hour and a half to two hours.

What does the running tour include?

We’ll take any pictures you want and send them to your e-mail address. Your guide will also provide you with bottled water.

Are there any set tour times?

No, we run at your convenience although we strongly suggest that you do your running tour earlier or later in the day depending on the season or traffic conditions.

Where do we meet?

You can meet us at one of our centrally located meeting points or we can meet you at where you’ll be staying.

Are there any other people on my running tour?

No. We aim to provide the best possible service to all of our runners and avoid potential discrepancies and misunderstandings among participants. That’s why our tours are completely private.

I'm worried that I won’t be able to keep up with you.

In order to make your running experience with us more comfortable and enjoyable, we always go at your pace and not the other way around.

All that we ask is that you be in reasonably good physical shape and have no medical condition that may affect your participation. The running tours, otherwise, are done in a non-competitive and friendly environment. It’s about having a good time!

I need to continue with my running program. Can you help me?

You bet. If you’d like, instead of a tour, we can set up specific runs tailored to your needs. If you also require additional forms of exercise, we can also provide you with a Personal Trainer. Please contact us for further information.

Can I customize my tour?

You sure can. Tell us what you want and we’ll put it all together for you!

Should I book my running tour in advance?

You should. Depending on the time of year, booking at certain hours can be difficult. We can, however, try to accomodate you on short notice and even on the same day. We advise you to call us in such an event.
